
New Leadership: Kalben, Radinja, Ratilainen and Boyle Take the Helm
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Tine Radinja as our co-president, effective from January 31, 2024, who will lead our group alongside Niina Ratilainen. Moreover, we are also very happy to welcome Eka von Kalben and Dan Boyle as our new vice-co-presidents. The formation of this outstanding board fills us with joy, as their wealth of experience and boundless enthusiasm undoubtedly positions them to skillfully guide our political efforts.
Tine Radinja has been the mayor of Skofja Loka (Slovenia) since 2018. Before being elected Mayor, he served as Deputy Mayor responsible for HR and nominations, legislative and statutory issues, sports, culture, and social affairs. Tine Radinja has also worked for the World Bank on social development in the Middle East and North Africa, and for the League of Arab States on representative NGO platform. Furthermore, he was the president of the European Youth Forum – the world’s biggest youth platform; and active in the Scouts movement. Now he is a proud father of two young scouts
Eka von Kalben is Vice-President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament since 2022. Before that, Eka was the leader of the Greens’ group in the Parliament for ten years. She is committed to nature and climate preservation, social justice and equality.
Dan Boyle is an elected member of the Cork City Council and is responsible for the policy areas of Environment, Amenity & Water. In 2002-11 he served in the lower and upper houses of the Irish Parliament and was Deputy Leader of the upper house. He also served as National Chair of the Green Party/Comhaontas Glas. Dan has also served on the bureau of the National Forum on Europe and helped to establish Green Foundation Ireland. He has written three books on Green and Irish political history: A Journey to Change (2006); Without Power or Glory (2012) & Making Up The Numbers (2017).
