Chrysanthos ZANNETTOU

Alternate

Deputy Mayor of Famagusta

Chrysanthos has been Deputy Mayor of Famagusta since 2017 and member of the Famagusta Municipal Council since 2007.

He studied Political Science at Charles University in Prague and the University of Cyprus, and holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the University of York.

A member of AKEL since 2001, he joined its Central Committee in 2010 and Political Bureau in 2015. After working as AKEL’s scientific assistant in the European Parliament (2004–2006), he held various senior party roles, including District Secretary of AKEL Famagusta (2013–2025). Since March 2025, he has headed AKEL’s Local Government Department.
